Journey into Pain Management and Palliative Care
Her path into the world of pain management and palliative care began with a deeply personal experience. In high school, she cared for her beloved grandfather as he battled lung cancer and experienced severe pain. In college, her mother received chemotherapy treatments for cancer and experienced severe nausea and vomiting. Both of their journeys were marked by immense suffering, and it was this reason that led her to her calling. Witnessing the profound impact that effective pain and advanced symptom management and compassionate palliative care can have on patients and their families, she decided to devote her life to helping patients alleviate their suffering. Since her journey began in Palliative Care, she was also able to take care of both her father and stepmom who passed away from cancer. They were both comfortable and pain-free at the end of life.

During her previous role as a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, she was able to provide palliative care and hospice services to patients. She has taken care of numerous patients who were suffering from pain and other symptoms in the outpatient setting and in their homes. Being able to provide patients relief from the agonizing discomfort of cancer and chronic illness treatments has been rewarding and compels her to continue the work that she does. It is a privilege to share this journey with her patients and their families and to support them during the most difficult time in their lives.
